Dra. Blanca Ochoa is a Basque Government Fellow in the University of the Basque Country and a Visiting Fellow in Durham University. She has a PhD in Palaeolithic Rock Art (UPV/EHU, 2016). She participates in the Prehistory Research Group of the UPV/EHU financed by the Basque Government (IT-622-13).

Since she obtained her MSc in Quaternary science in 2010, she has been working on Palaeolithic cave art in three different research lines: the chronology of portable and parietal art through different proxies (style, C14 dating, U-Series dating); the territorial analysis through stylistic markers to reconstruct the Palaeolithic groups and their social, spatial and territorial interactions; and, the analysis of the visibility and transit to identify potential uses of cave art.

Her current projects include the recording of several caves in the Basque Country and Asturias. In Durham University, she is working on a revision of the dates obtained for Palaeolithic depictions up to date to determine the areas that need to be reinforced in the future.
